Section 9:
Audience
 
The course syllabus states that you should be able to:
9.1
Audience appreciation:
  • Show a clear sense of audience when planning and creating ICT solutions
  • Analyse the needs of an audience
  • Explain why solutions must meet the needs of an audience
9.2
Legal, moral, ethical and cultural appreciation:
  • Explain the need for copyright legislation and the principles of copyright relating to software (e.g. software piracy)
  • Describe methods that software producers employ to prevent softare copyright from being broken
  • Discuss the legal, moral, ethical and cultural implications of creating an ICT solution
  • Create ICT solutions that are responsive to and respectful to the needs of an audience
  • Discuss why the internet is not policed (although legislation is enforced in some countries) and the effects of this, including the existence of inappropriate sites

Revision Practice for Section 9:
The links to the right contain some revision questions and mind maps that will help prepare you for the section 1 exam.

The 'fill in the blanks' link takes you to a Microsoft Word document which contains a wide-range of questions designed to test your knowledge on Types and Components of Computer Systems. You complete the document by filling in the blanks with words from the list.

The answers to the fill in the blanks task can be found on pages 3 - 4 of the document. Make sure you attempt the questions yourself before looking at the answers. Any mistakes you make should be corrected.

The 'multiple choice self marking practice test' will present you with a series of exam style questions in a multiple choice format. When you complete the test you will given a score and grade. you will also be given the answers to questions that you may have gotten wrong. You should use this to help you correct any mistakes you make have made.

The mind maps are diagrams which give you sharp and to-the-point revision information on all of the topics covered during this section.
